In a standout performance at the recent IAPS 2024 Swimming Finals, pupils showcased their talent with an impressive 19 boys securing their spots in the finals. Securing an outstanding 2nd place finish nationally for our U10s and securing WUS 3rd place overall in the competition.
The morning began with exciting relay events, where our young swimmers displayed their abilities with top finishes. In individual races, standout performances included Samuel’s 3rd place in the freestyle and Eli’s 1st place in the backstroke.
Special recognition goes to all the boys who participated, including those who overcame injuries or adapted to new race formats. Their collective effort propelled our U10s to a 2nd place finish nationally and secured WUS an impressive 3rd place overall, highlighting the strength of our swimmers. We couldn’t be happier for them, and they have represented WUS incredibly well – something for future years to aspire to.
We will miss our current Year 8s greatly, but they will pass the flame onto the next cohort, and we hope they continue swimming as they leave WUS. To all the boys involved, a well-deserved round of applause for representing our school with pride and determination. We look forward to seeing their continued success in the pool.
